For your consideration we are offering for sale this Restored Circa 1927 Parker Senior Duofold Fountain Pen in Blue Lapis. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, ultrasonically cleaned and put back together and is now in wonderful writing condition.
I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, cap, barrel and NIB. Replaced the old sac with a new, properly sized rubber sac. Hand polished the Gold Filled Parker Clip, Cap Banding, and 14K replacement NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel, blind cap and cap to bring back the vibrancy of fountain pen and to protect the material . This Parker Duofold is the Senior Size and measures 5 1/2" capped and 6 1/2" posted.
The fountain pen cap, barrel, and blind cap are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The Cap has a Gold Filled Parker Clip with PAT SEPT 5 - 16 stamped and has been polished to shine bright - just a touch a brassing on the side of the ball of the clip. The cap banding displays rich gold filled color with no brassing. The barrel is crisply stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER DUOFOLD FOUNTAIN PEN JANESVILLE, WIS LUCKY CURVE U.S.A. PAT 4-25-11". There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. The barrel on this lapis does have a hint of darkening when comparing to the cap, but overall is great color.
This Duofold has a Button Filler mechanism and have made sure it is tested with water and fills as it should. The filling unit operates as it was originally intended to and smoothly.
The Parker NIB is 14K and is a factory replacement with a 1936 - 2nd Quarter Date Code - the star at the bottom of the clip denotes the NIB as a replacement. The actual writing portion of the 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .78mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a fine to broad stroke / line. In the writing sample provided, the fine line measures at .58mm and the broad line measures at 1.08mm with firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that is listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
This is an Iconic vintage Parker Duofold Fountain Pen in the senior size and is a gorgeous example from Parker in the hard to find Lapis Blue. I would consider this Parker grade in Excellent Condition. It is ready to write or just add it to your writing arsenal collection.
